Bride's mother receiving the wedding album
Usually, it's the bride who comes to collect her own storybook wedding album, but, in this instance, her mother collected it for her, as she was to be visiting her the next day.

Greek Orthodox Easter Midnight Candles
Переглядів 772 місяці тому
The whole village crowds in the church after hearing the joyous bell ringing, to celebrate the resurrection of Christ, and at midnight they all light their individual candles from the one the priest holds out, then use their candles to help everyone else crowded behind them, to light theirs. They all say Cristos Anesti ( Χριστός ανέστη! - Christ has risen) and file outside to the sound and sigh...

This gypsy wedding, is from several years ago, where the couple on hired me to take photos of the wedding ceremony. They didn't have a reception so its quite short, and not shot with our current 4K cameras.
Traveller Wedding in Dewsbury

This is just a 2 minute video, as a little surprise for the couple, as I was really only shooting a few photos of their wedding ceremony and a few pics in the park. Happy memories, as the bride's sister was my first ever traveller bride 10 years ago, and now she and her husband have 3 lovely children.

This was actually a well-behaved and orderly wedding where lots of thought had gone into the planning and the guest list. Its not too long, though, as I was shooting photos as well as video. The reception will follow in a separate upload. The bride didn't want any actuality sound, other than the legal wedding ceremony, of course.
Squirrel with a whole fat ball

This cunning creature snatched a whole fat ball from the bird feeder and scrambled up the tree onto a balcony rail, and sat there for ages nibbling away at, balanced precariously. He had tried the ( squirrel-proof) sunflower seed feeder but gave up in the end.

The bride is exquisite, no need for the spray tan and over the top heavy makeup and false eyelashes.
Agreed. However it's how she likes it and how she chose to look. I personally never wear any makeup myself, not even in my own wedding day, but most brides love to have a special wedding look a d this one is super popular in their culture, and for almost all Muslim brides, too
So thank you Kathy! xx
Those brows n lashes 🫣
Yes, they love to accentuate their best features.
ALL THAT MONEY SPENT ❤wishing you both all the best ❤
Thanks for your kind wishes. However, this was actually not an expensive wedding. They didn't even have a wedding reception, so I'm very surprised at your initial statement, Shirley! I think most brides at least buy a wedding dress.
I hate the man brows and the overstuffed lips.
I love the gypsy weddings ! The women are all gorgeous and know how to go sexy-glam...gorgeous eye makeup, hair and the dresses are right out of a fairy-tale. They all look so happy. You don't see as much glam from women nowadays and I think that we all can take a page out of their book.
Wow! That's fantastic! I'm so happy to hear you loved their creative ways of dressing. I see too many comments from people who feel they need to censor the gypsy ways of dressing for weddings, so it's a really pleasant feeling to see your more open-minded views!
@@ReelLifePhotos Back in my younger years, in the 1980's, the women in the US, where I am from, all used to doll up like this, big hair, fancy eye make-up...you always felt gorgeous when you went out and if you had any real natural beauty, this type of style only enhanced it. We all looked like movie stars !
How lovely! You must have had a fabulous time! Big hair has always been a style statement, over many decades and even before any of our time, centuries ago! I don't see this style disappearing any time soon, as it's pretty much enshrined in the wedding calendar for Muslim and Traveller brides. I see it at 90% of the weddings I get booked for, too.. You also sound to be a lovely, happy, positive person! xx
Vaping in the church😮
@tiggy7429 Yes, so it seems. I don't think anyone noticed it during the ceremony or the sermons, though. I certainly didn't.
The groom must be short if thats the shoes she’s wearing.
@rsoubiea Maybe. When did you see her shoes? They were pretty hidden under her wedding dress. Brides tend to change shoes too, when they put in a more manageable outfit for the reception or evening do.
Funny
@@laurenhouston-mcmillan1231 Funny ha ha or funny peculiar?
Wow! It looks like all the women came from Leeds’ Red Light District.
@christinesyntax4067 Oooh, that's a bit steep! I love their flamboyant style and creative outfits. Maybe you are just not used to seeing so many attractive young ladies showing off their best points? Try walking round Leeds on a Saturday night, as I've seen more flesh on display with the hen parties parading the streets, and they are not perceived as anything untoward!
That was the oddest unemotional disconnected couple I have ever seen
@jeannedenbigh8919 Maybe yes, maybe no, as Travellers are often less "connected' initially due to the fact that they previously wouldn't have spent time alone together.
What a stunning Travelers wedding I ever seen. All the dress were absolutely gorgeous. The brides wedding dress was stunning . There was no messing no half naked little girls. Love it love it. May the Lord Bless the bride and the groom and all happiness and Love. 100% a beautiful wedding. Big Congratulations 🪷🌺🌹💐
@mariamccarthy8020 Wow! That's praise indeed! I'm delighted, Mariam, that you loved it so much! I was mainly taking their wedding photos, but am glad I managed to capture this too! xx
@mariamccarthy8020 Thank you so .much Mariam!.xx
O my god .. what do they look like ..did they all shop in B & Q for their makeup ... and the men ... all holding tightly to their loose change ....
Oooh you are cruel, Daniel! Ah, well, at least you have a great sense of humour! It happens to be a very popular style of makeup for Muslim weddings as well as Travellers, so you won't change anything!
The kids are so undisciplined. They must be used to it. The bride is just beautiful. Even the adults are noisy and chatting away.
@kathyminassian1375 Yes, that's normal, as they have their own relaxed ways of doing things. It's a day out , away from home, a chance to dress up, so they want to enjoy themselves.
Divno.ali djeveruse ko mladenke.nejde nikako?
Da, bijelo nije samo za mladenku u romskim tradicijama.
Da, bijelo nije samo za mladenku u romskim tradicijama.
The couple did not even look at each while saying their vowes.
@joycealdred1277 Hi Joyce,, that's actually pretty standard af Traveller weddings, as they have"t had time beforehand to develop that kind of relationship, as they are not allowed to be alone together prior to their marriage.
I know its a tradition for gypsy weddings to be "over the top". However, IMO, if they had spent less on the bride (in general) they might have been able to get the groom and groomsmen better fitting suits. All of the men look sloppy in ill fitting garments. The wedding gown is WAY to long in the front. She tripped over it and yo "kick" it out of her way many times.
@djb2975 Lots of feedback there. However, I very much doubt that the "Iill-fitting suits", as you say, we're as a result of lack of funds. Any issues in that department are more likely to be due to them now wanting a size larger than they chose to wear.As for the length of her dress, the reason she is kicking it forward, is because her dress has a type of hopped underskirt , and every time I've seen this, the only way they can move, is to kick it forward, so she's not unique in that.
She was so uncomfortable in her dress and veil. Other were holding their breasts from popping out of the dress! First time I see a Gypsie wedding where the bride doesn’t look happy.
She loved her dress, Edith, but they are not easy to walk in, which is why this style is only usually worn for one day on their lives! She was very into her appearance, so naturally kept checking it, hence the veil fiddling. As for the other girls' dresses, they do like to accentuate their curves, and why not..!
Also, the bride may be just that kind of person, who gets stressed easily, and doesn't tend to have a ready smile?
@@ReelLifePhotos I just pointed out the obvious.
@edithmolina4968 Fair enough. It's OK not to agree with me, if that's how you see things. xx
@@ReelLifePhotos So many comments noting the bride’s behaviour, but hey! I have seen several Gypsy weddings and this one was odd.
Sicherlich! Sie sind nur ein bisschen schüchtern!
She's a beautiful girl. But I think if there was a breeze her eyelashes would fly off
Oh, that's so funny! You should have seen the oodles of glue, though, so it would have had to be a hurricane!
@@ReelLifePhotos Lol that's some big hair. Wouldn't make it through a hurricane either
@rachellemedina8395 Ah, well, fortunately, we all had a great day, and no mishaps.
All are looking idiots 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I wonder if this was an arranged marriage. They both seem miserable.
No, they don't do arranged marriages. They might be sad as they weren't having reception, and that they didn't have much time to prepare for the marriage. However, I think the bride is like this anway, and not a smiley person at all. We can't all have the same personality, can we!
LOVELY MUSIC
Thank you! It's always hard to choose the right piece to please people as well as suiting the scene, when they won't know the pieces that I've chosen, as they have to be copyright free , so won't necessarily be so popular or well known at all.
The church looked incredible with all the white flowers & trees🙏🏼 WHO BROUGHT THE BABY TO THE CEREMONY!!! 🤨 Such timing to yell “Ma!” Right when Priest said “Does anyone object….” Lol😅 Bride & Groom so cute when saying their vows. 🇺🇸👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Hilarious! Love the way you expressed that! Travellers always bring all their children, as theirs is a child centred society . The vicars/priests are all used to it anyway, so all good!
The brides hair, dress & makeup looked great. So 60’s Hollywood. Gorgeous Wedding Gown ♥️ The baby girl with the big up-do was too adorbs 👏🏼😄 Loved the blue plaid tux’s too. CONGRATS GUYS 💒🤵🏻👰🏼♀️💐🎂
That's fantastic! Bless you! It's so good to get kind comments lately, after all the critical ones!
😊😊😊😊
No words, eh?
😳..FIRST wedding I see where bride/groom make no eye contact.Groom has his hands in his pocket thru out ceremony.Bride lights a cigarette @ church ,is on her ph. at reception ...THE oddest wedding ever!!
Had to laugh at your saying that it was the "oddest wedding ever", Sherrill. It didn't feel that way at all to me, but then, I'm used to a huge variety of wedding styles, and the fact that travellers don't necessarily have that kind of close relationship prior to their marriage.
Groom smoking in church. 🗑
Pretty dress. Video Way too long
Oh sorry. It was actually made for the couple concerned, so isn't what they call a "highlights video", but rather a documentary of their day, Paulette. Glad you appreciated the bride's dress, at least, though.
women all look so uncomfortable.
All of them, Marcille? Wow!
We could all afford luxuries like this if we didn’t pay any taxes and national insurance. Still want all the benefits without contributing anything though don’t they.
Really? I think you are a little biased. It wasn't, in any case, a flash wedding, other than the church decorations, it was super low-key!
EVERYONE'S WEARING WHITE THOUGHT BRUNETTE WAS BRIDE LIKED HER DRESS 😅 BETTER 😢
Yes, it's not seen as the bride's prerogative to be the only one wearing white, at Traveller weddings. Exclusively wearing a white dress, is a traditional wedding custom, but not in non-traditional cultures.
Glassy CLASSY PEOPLE KN JEANS 👖. Reception at the Quality Inn
It's a low key, budget reception - @amyliss7567 ! Not everyone can afford to splash out big time!
Traveller men live in Jeans! They also live by their own codes of conduct. These hard-working guys don't feel the need to conform to other people's ideas of acceptable dress codes!
Other blonde has BIGGER FAKE HAIR than the BRIDE'S LOL😅
POOR LITTLE GIRLS HAIR ALSO COME ON NO NO
Little girls copy the big girls , didn't you know? It's only for one day, so no problem! Let them feel grown up for a day, at least...
FAKE EYELASHES ALSO OH MY OH MY NO NO NO
@Amyliss7567 You are so funny! Give the bride a chance to shine on her wedding day! She loves her big eyelashes so let her shine her own way. She was brave enough to put up with the sticky white glue, snd the extra weight of them, so it must have been worth the pain for her to feel special! It's what young girls do!
Fake HAIR'S GOTTA GO😢
Why? It's a very traditional hairstyle, worn by hundreds of Muslim and Traveller brides and bridesmaids every year, and has been the fashion for well over a decade!
Tons of makeup…
Yes! She loves this style though, as its a very popular bridal style for South Asian Muslims, and Travellers, alike.
Some of the male guests were so scruffy. And most of the women guessed made it look like a call girls Convention
Now, now, you are being rather prudish Jane. Traveller men are not concerned about outward appearances, as you seem to be. Remember, this isn't a traditional wedding, so they have different dress codes. I love the ladies' creative outfits, and why not let them show off a few curves?
That Hair piece looks as if it weighs A ton. Her husband probably won't recognize her when she takes all that off on her wedding night.
Not as heavy as you think! It's only ideally one additional hairpiece, a lightweight infill "bun", and a lot of artistry!
Lieber Himmel, was ist denn noch echt an der Braut? Falsche Haare, falsche Wimpern, Lippen wie ein U-Boot. Gefällt mir leider gar nicht.
Big slapper fest. No class. Disrespectful. Dress code tart. Etc.,
This is what having no class looks like.
It's just a different way, isn't it, and you know that Travellers do things differently, don't you?
Why so many negative comments?! 🤷🏻♀️ The bride is a beauty! Make-up has to be applied heavier than normal for professional shots otherwise it won't show up! 🤷🏻♀️ I personally have a bit of a soft spot for travellers/gypsys and love how OTT their weddings are! 🤷🏻♀️🙏🏻☺️
Magic! I'm very happy you've got this soft spot, Ash! I guess makeup once needed to be like this when videograohers used ti shine 500watt lights in their faces, but now we use more gentle LED lighting, as cameras are now more able to cope with less light.
More like a funeral than a wedding.😢
So everyone keeps saying, Linda, but if you look at their colourful clothes, and the huge effort to get makeup done and to arrive for the church service, you might like to forgive the lack of forced smiles for the camera?
Preterano nasminkana.posebno trepavice
Slažem se da ona nosi više šminke nego mejnstrim mladenke, ali ovaj stil teške svadbene šminke je standardan za većinu putnika i muslimana, tako da se uopće ne doživljava kao neobičan.
The bride looked stunning ❤
Thanks, Michelle! I much appreciated having a positive comment for a change!
@@ReelLifePhotos You're welcome 🥰 unfortunately there’s to much hate and intolerance in this world!
@@michellehardman50 Very , very true. It's sadly seen as a joke to laugh at anyone who is seen as being different!
@@ReelLifePhotos people who do that are poor educated and have not grown up nor matured since leaving school…People don't like different! Different cultures, different races, different beliefs. They see it as a threat to thier own core beliefs… They see their own as perfect! They view others a threat! My heritage on my mother's side was Jewish Romani Gipsies who settled in Dorset back in the 18th/19th century. I'm proud of all my ancestors.. Who they were! Shame people, can't be more open-minded.
How fascinating! I've only ever met one Romany gypsy, and she is a never-married 38 year old nursing assistant in the hospital. People believe that gypsies don't work for a living, but that simply isn't true. I'd love to photograph and video a real Romany wedding one day, but she doesn't look like getting married any day soon!
